Pastor MacDonald’s United States Air Force Career (1977-1997)...

 

 

COMBAT AIRSPACE MANAGER: Responsible for the planning, coordination and execution of Department of Defense and military special use airspace with the Federal Aviation Administration and Spanish speaking countries in Central and South America. Procedurally deconflicted wartime airspace requirements for all airborne assets in theater. Wrote airspace proposals and supported written airspace agreements between civilian and military agencies. Briefed commanders, their representatives, and their organizations on real-world and exercise airspace procedures and constraints.

 

AIR TRAFFIC CONTROL FACILITY MANAGER: Responsible for the safe, orderly and expeditious flow of air traffic in tower and radar approach control facilities. After six years experience as an air traffic control specialist he became a watch supervisor (responsible for a team of on-duty controllers) and eventually facility manager (responsible for all assigned controllers).

 

MILITARY DECORATIONS: Two Meritorious Service Medals, one Joint Service Commendation Medal, two Air Force Commendation Medals, one Joint Service Achievement Medal Medal, two Air Force Achievement Medals, one Combat Readiness Medal, one National Defense Service, one Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, and one Humanitarian Service Medal.
